2. Scholarships Offered During the Course
1. Introduction
The Scholarship Policy ensures the college upholds everyone’s right to education and fosters an inclusive atmosphere. To promote academic achievement, research and sports, the institution offers various scholarships and the committee provides related guidance.
The committee also administers scholarship programs from the central and state governments, AICTE, UGC, and the college itself, assisting students from OBC, minority, and SC backgrounds.
2. Objective
- Scholarship Development: Assisting students in gaining the knowledge and understanding required to obtain scholarships that support their academic and professional goals.
- Scholarship Information: Increasing student awareness of scholarship prospects through seminars, events, online resources, and one-on-one counselling.
- Support and Guidance: Providing students with guidance to create successful scholarship applications for regional and national opportunities.
- Interaction with External Organizations: Collaborating with NGOs, sponsors, alumni, and staff to secure financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

4. Types of Scholarships
Eligibility
The Xavier’s Scholarships program is open to students across all disciplines. Successful applicants at Xavier Institute of Management and Informatics (XIMI) will receive a contribution agreement outlining the administration and distribution of scholarship funds.
The committee will establish internal deadlines for each academic session to receive supporting documentation.
Basic Criteria
- Academic Performance: Students must pass the session’s internal examinations and RTU examinations.
- Conduct: Students must maintain good conduct within the college.
- Attendance: Students must maintain at least 75% attendance during the academic year.
- Disciplinary Record: No disciplinary actions should be pending against the student.
Scholarship Value
The value of the scholarship is determined by the program’s level, duration, and specific requirements. Scholarships do not cover periods such as summer breaks or semesters when full-time study is not mandated.
Scholarship Duration
Students are eligible for a minimum of one semester (6 months) and up to a maximum of two academic years (24 months total), typically beginning in July/August of each academic year.
4.1 Criteria for Merit-Based Scholarships
- Academic Excellence: Students must demonstrate strong academic performance in the Internal Assessment and RTU Main Examination.
- Selection Process: Only the top-scoring students from each batch in every department will be selected. The number of recipients per class varies based on total class strength.
- Benefit: Selected students may receive up to 50% of the tuition fees (one year) as a scholarship amount.
- Final Authority: The College Management reserves the right to all final decisions, which shall be binding.
4.2 Criteria for Sports Scholarships
4.2.1 International Players
- Eligibility: International players who have represented India in team or individual sports are eligible for up to 25% tuition fee as a scholarship amount at the time of admission.
- Performance Review: If the student does not continue to play at the international level in the second year, the scholarship will be reduced by 75%. The award will be adjusted annually based on performance improvements or declines.
4.2.2 National Players
- Eligibility: Players who have represented their state at the national level in team or individual games are eligible for up to 10% tuition fee as a scholarship amount at the time of admission.
- Performance Review: If the student does not play at the national level in the second year, the scholarship will be reduced by 90%.
4.2.3 Important Guidelines for Players
- Notification: Players must notify their Head of Department (HOD) and the Assistant Director of Physical Education (DPE).
- Attendance: Attendance relaxations are available for players, provided they have prior approval from the Assistant Director (DPE) and their respective HOD.
- Ongoing Eligibility: For second-year renewals, students must keep the DPE informed of their progress. Failure to keep the DPE and HOD updated on performance will result in disqualification.
- Recognition: Exceptional performers will receive additional medals and perks at the annual prize distribution.
- Validity: Only sports certificates from the last two academic years will be accepted.
4.3 Criteria for Research Scholarship
- Active participation in research-based activities like research paper submission in research journals and paper presentation in national / international conferences.
- No disciplinary issues against the applicant.
4.4 Scholarship under Central Schemes / State Schemes
- AICTE Post Graduate (PG) Scholarship
- AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Meritorious Girl Students
- AICTE Saksham Scholarship for Specially Abled Students
5. Application Process
- Submission: All applicants must complete the official application form, signed by a parent / guardian and submitted to the HOD. Sports scholarship applications must first be submitted to the Assistant Director (DPE).
- Authentication: The HOD will verify the candidate’s attendance, Internal Assessment and RTU Examination marks / research contributions.
- Review Chain: Applications will be scrutinized by the Coordinator and submitted to the Director and Manager for final approval.
- Deadlines: Late submissions will be rejected without exception.
Important Notes
- If a student qualifies for multiple categories, they may apply for only one scholarship. The research and admission-time scholarships are exempt from this clause.
- The admission-time scholarship (one-time only) and the research scholarship will be awarded annually.
- Merit-based scholarship will be awarded after completion of the course.
- Sports scholarship will be awarded as per the criteria mentioned.
- The eligibility date will be determined based on the results published by the concerned authority.
Note: Terms and conditions apply as per Government norms.
6. Discontinuation of Scholarship
Scholarships will be cancelled if a student fails repeatedly, engages in academic malpractice, or is involved in antisocial or criminal activities. Additionally, failure to adhere to the scholarship’s terms and conditions, or a demonstrated lack of regularity, punctuality, and the cherished values of the College, will result in the immediate forfeiture of the award.
In the event that a student is involved in a law-and-order situation that violates the law of the land, the matter will be handled by the relevant law enforcement authorities in India.

Application forms are available at the XIMI Office. A formal notice regarding the application timeline is published annually.
Final decision rests with the College Management.
